Season 13 has had a funny shape to it. Plenty of players jumped in expecting Paladin to own the ladder, and fair enough, Holy Fire looked safe on paper. But once you spend a few nights in harder dungeons, the Warlock starts to feel like the real problem class. Crit Chance Is No Longer The Problem
Sigil of Subversion is the piece that changes how you gear. With enough Hex stacks rolling, the bonus critical chance gets so high that chasing crit on every slot starts to feel wasteful. You can still use some if your gear is rough, sure, but the goal is to move past that stage quickly. Insidious Aspect then gives the build its bite, because crits on hexed enemies can set off heavy Shadow bursts. Add Profane Sentinel, and you get a lot less button stress. It spreads Hex, helps keep Wrath flowing, and lets you focus on movement and positioning instead of babysitting every target.



Playing The Rotation Without Overthinking It
The loop feels best when you keep it loose. Nether Step into the edge of a pack, not straight into the worst ground effect. Let the Sentinel start tagging enemies. Drop Sigil of Subversion where the fight will actually happen, then channel Dread Claws and watch the chain reaction build. Litany of Sable matters here because Shadowform stacks are more than a small bonus. Once you hit the key stack point, the extra phantoms make the whole screen feel crowded in your favour. It's not a slow caster style. It's closer to a knife fight with magic attached.



What To Prioritise On Gear
For gearing, I'd put less trust in sheet damage and more in the stats that feed the engine. Shadow Damage, Shadow Damage over Time, Critical Strike Damage, and Shadowform support all matter more once crit chance is handled by the build itself. Resource comfort is still worth watching, because a dry Warlock feels awful, but you shouldn't be wasting premium rolls on problems the setup already solves. Players who want to speed up testing sometimes use u4gm for game currency or item support, which can make it easier to compare upgrades without grinding every single slot from scratch. If Blizzard leaves this version alone for a while, Shadow Dance should stay one of the most enjoyable high-end Warlock options this season.
